ARA'S PATREON: www.patreon.com/AraPersonica
So... I have had this for a while but I've been worried about posting... I hope that you might take the time to check it out though, and I totally understand if it's not your thing!
I'm an unknown entity in comics and animation, and that makes it hard to find people interested in working with me (also in part because I've been a mental mess). As such, I started Mirage, a personal project, to prove to myself and others that I can consistently make a thing on time and complete it. I started posting it in January this year and I've hit my deadline every week for the last five months! I don't know if it's any good yet, but it's going to occupy my time for at least another year or two.
In addition to Mirage, I'm working on a few small animation projects to get better at animation in general. I intend to learn motion graphics, 3D modeling, and other marketable skills while doing these projects. I've taken animation classes with Disney animators and I intend to take more classes in the future.
I've done fine art, illustration, portraiture, and graphic design, but the thing I love more than all of those has been animation and comics. Though animation is definitely topping out the other things, haha.
Very soon I need to start taking on freelance work because my job is no longer 100% covering my expenses (coughHEALTHCAREANDSTUDENTLOANScough). But in order to get the kind of work I want, I need to do some "volunteer" work in the animation and game community and network. Unfortunately for me, I worked through college and didn't prioritize meeting people over getting good grades. So I don't know a whole lot of people in the industry. I kind of have to start from scratch.
And so I thought... if anyone would be willing to support me in my Mirage endeavor and in learning to animate and network, that it would be very, very cool of you.
So I made a Patreon. I'm intending to fill it up with all sorts of things, but right now it's a little bare. As I get more time, I'm hoping to start editing together speed-draws and making some fun podcasts with friends to share there.
If you would like to support Mirage and my animation projects now and in the future, I'd very very much appreciate it! It's in no way an obligation, and feel free to stop at any time. It would be such an awesome way to support my work, since the things that I so love to do are not easily marketable outside of certain job markets.
If you got this far, thank you soso much! I really hope to show you some amazing stuff in the future!
